Functional and Fashionable Towel Bars

Bath towels are among the most used pieces of accessories at home. Hand towels dry your hands as soon as you rinse them in the kitchen area, and shower towels helps in drying your body after you take a shower in your bathroom.

Because the main function of bath towels is to get rid of excess wetness and thus dry the object it rubs, it has to be, whenever possible, free of moisture constantly. Bath towels wouldn't serve their purpose if they are damp, as they wouldn't be able to absorb wetness and effectively dry the skin or even the dishes.

It is for this reason that the towel’s number one working companion, the towel bar, ought to be so functionally designed. Towel bars were created not just to hold the towel, but to keep them as dry as possible, as well.

The bars should have sufficient thickness to provide ample room to dry the semi-folded towel hanging on them. They need to also be smartly placed in places in the kitchen and bath where there is a good air flow, so they could naturally and effectively dry the towels sitting on them.

These types of bars for hanging towels also needs to be positioned in easy to get at locations. The towel bar should be in good nearness to the person who washes his hands and fingers so that his still dripping wet hands would not wet the kitchen floor; such a thing happens if your hand towel is a little distant from the kitchen sink. Bath towels should be within reach from the shower and bathtub space so that the dripping body would not wet the dry portion of the bathroom floors.

In situations where couples and multiple family members use the same bathroom, multiple bars must be set up with plenty of room in between to permit air to circulate and adequately dry the draping towels. For this specific purpose, it is recommended to find the bars with top length and thickness.

The bars come in standard sizing's of seven, twelve, eighteen and twenty four inches in length. The 24-inches towel bar would be best for the restroom shower and tub area, since bath towels come in widths of 2 feet or even wider.

Hanging oversized towels in small bars wouldn't assist in efficient drying. Folding multiple bath towels and suspending them side by side on one towel bar would doubly slow the drying process, too. And nobody would really want to grab a damp towel when anyone takes a shower.

Finally, past the efficient drying function of towel bars, their beauty value also need to be given thought. Their quality, design and color must aptly complement the style of other fixtures and furniture in the bathroom and the kitchen. Their presence should by no means turn into an eye sore inside the room, but must play a role in the elegance of the overall ambience of the kitchen and bathroom, instead.
